PTV tranmission resumed in Indian-held Kashmir
Published by TV Explore on April 21, 2009
Pakistani private television channels remained off air while telecast of PTV transmission resumed in Kashmir valley. All Pakistan private television channels including Geo TV, Aaj and ARY are off air since July last year.
The local cable operators stopped the telecast of Pak channels on the directions of the local administration after massive protests in the Kashmir valley on Amarnath land row.
The administration had also ordered a number of local news channels to suspend their operation after these channels telecasted live the protests in the Valley during the land row agitation. The local cable operators in retaliation stopped the telecast of Indian and foreign channels for some time before the authorities allowed the operators to resume transmission.
The Pakistani channels still remained off the air. However, for the past some time the telecast of PTV has resumed in the valley by the cable operators.
