The Muslim Writers Awards 2009 will be broadcasted live on ARY Digital UK on Wednesday, 27th May 2009. The Awards will include performances from the Award winning Khayaal Theatre Group and the acclaimed performance poet Amir Sulaiman from America.
The Muslim Writers Awards has become a unique annual event that draws together well known decision makers and influencers from the world of literature, politics, business and civil society to celebrate and recognize the talent of Muslim Writers in the UK. The initiative aims to change the narrative that Muslims in the UK seem to have sold themselves over the last few decades, and we are making great strides in terms of offering a platform for people to share stories and thereby affect changes in attitudes.Since the last awards ceremony, the MWA team has been inundated with interest from all parts of the world; this year’s event will broadcast live to over 400 million people around the world.
