Cable TV restored in Swat
Cable transmission has been restored in Swat District of NWFP after the military action, BBC reports. The transmission had been completely banned by Taliban in the District, but later under the, peace accord in February last, the Taliban allowed only news and Islamic channel transmissions.
However, the cable transmission have again started now, a cable network Chief Naveed Khan told the BBC.
He told that transmission equipments, wires, optic fibre and boosters had been badly damaged. He further said that the transmission had so far, restarted in Makan Bagh area of Mingora City and Saidu Sharif, while cable laying and booster fixing work was inprogress.
Cable transmission service is being supplied to 200 houses at present. Naveed Khan said.
