Hum TV launches new line-up of programmes

HUM TV on Friday held a press conference to introduce their new line-up of, programmes - ‘Kabhi Na Kdbhi’, ‘Malal’, ‘Men Unsuni Khani’, ‘Perfume Chowk’, ‘Rangeeli’, ‘Sur Zindagi Hai’ and ‘Rishtey Mohabbaton Ke’ the entrance to the venue of the conference was decorated with huge HUM TV logos, while the hall was adorned with a huge backdrop and standees of the new programmes.

GM Public Relations Shenaz Ramzi hosted the press conference Ather Waqar Azeem, senior vice president ETNL, Mehtab Rashdi, executive director ETNL, Mommal Shunaid, head of scripts and Maimona Siddiqui, GM programming HUM TV, was also present on the occasion.

Ramzi threw light on the new programmes that have recently been started and also spoke about a very exciting upcoming cricket quiz show that will be the first of its kind on television and will be hosted by cricket legend Wasim Akram for which registrations are open. She also announced that owing to the overwhelming response, the deadline for HUM Tele Film Festival has been extended. She also invited the media for another press conference to be held the next day exclusively for one new play. Show-reels of programmes that recently went on air ‘Perfume Chowk’, ‘Rangeeli’ and ‘Sur Zindagi Hai’ were then shown to the audience.

Khalid Hassan, producer ‘Perfume, chowk’, came on stage and explained that the play was based on a chowk in Karachi which has become famous because a person named Jameel Afridi has a perfume shop there.

The writer of the serial, Khurram Abbas said that it had always been his dream to write about people he grew up with, so the serial was inspired by his family and friends. Cameraman Majid Mumtaz, thanked HUM TV for giving him the unique opportunity of coming in front of the camera.

Zohaib, the nine-year-old star of the serial, amused the audi- ence by delivering one of his dialogues from the serial. Other cast members of the serial who came include director Ahtesham; Qaiser Naqvi, Paras, Ali Rizvi, Najala Kawish, Naeema Garaj, Rehana Akhter, Shabbir Rana, Nighat and Agha Waheed Rehman. Salman Alvi, the host of ‘Sur Zindagi Hai’ spoke next about the serial. After which the show-reel of the programmes to be aired soon - ‘Kabhi Na Kabhi’, ‘Malal’, ‘Men Unsuni Kahani’ and ‘Rishtey Mohabbatori Ke’ - was shown.

Maimoona Siddiqui briefly spoke about the new line-up of programmes and said that she was confident all the plays would do well because they had good scripts; concepts and very strong line-ups. With reference to the HUM TeleFilm Festival, she informed that along with the original line-up of judges, Rubina Ashraf, winner of last years first prize, ha also joined the jury. The cast and crew of ‘Kabi Na Kabhi’ were in Lahore while those of ‘Malal’ were I the USA, so they didn’t atten the press conference.

The director of ‘Rishte Muhabato Ke’, Arif Khan, said that it was his first serial for HUM TV an he hoped that it would do well Mehtab Rashdi expresses her vote of thanks for the support given by the press.
