Journalists representing Pakistani TV channels sweep Indian press polls

Representatives of Pakistani media swept elections at the Press Club of India (PCI), a national forum of Indian journalists.

Pervaiz Ahmed (ARY News) and Pushpendra Kulshrestha (Aaj News) were elected president and secretary-general respectively, according to a press release issued by Arun Kumar Jaim, chief election officer. Rahul Jalali and Jayanta Bhattacharya were elected president and treasurer respectively. The new 16-member managing committee consists of Ritu Verma, Arun Jetlie, Mohua Chatterjee, Pramod Kumar, Anoop Saxena, Dinesh Tiwari, Ashish Kumar Singh, Narendra Bhalla, Rahul Pandita, Jagdish Yadav, Lucy Chattopadhayay, Vijay Krishna, SM Afzal Naqvi, Gyanendra Pandey, Nadeem Ahmed Kazmi and Deepak Dwivedi.

The elections were held on Saturday. Founded in 1958 in the heart of Indian capital, adjacent to Parliament House building, the club has more than 5,000 members.
