Ashraf, who was previously associated with The News, Geo TV and Samaa TV, has reportedly been hired on a monthly salary of Rs 200,000. He is the fourth big-name to be brought in by the management in recent days.

Before him, Waheed Hussain, previously with Waqt TV, was taken on board, reportedly on a monthly salary of Rs 375,000. He joined the organization as Anchor Person Current Affairs.

Also hired was Kazim Khan who came in as the Executive Producer from Dunya TV, his salary reportedly being Rs 275,000. Mian Tahir, was engaged as the Output Producer on a salary of Rs 200,000, also from Dunya TV.

Meanwhile, the PTV management has appointed Director Current Affairs Agha Masood Shorish as Director at the PTV Academy in Islamabad and named Sarwar Munir Rao to replace him.

Agha had remained suspended since mid November for failing to air live a press conference of Federal Finance Minister Hafeez Sheikh. The management had also suspended Director News Muzammil Ahmed Khan for similar reasons. He continues to be under suspension.
