Noted Pakistani TV actor Khayyam Sarhadi dies

Veteran actor Khayyam Sarhadi died of cardiac arrest during recording of a TV play in Lahore on Thursday. He was around 61.
He started his career from theatre and later joined Pakistan Radio but he got fame from number of TV plays like “Waris”, “Anokha Ladla”, “Man Chaley Ka Sauda”, “Sooraj Key Saath Saath” and “Deep Sey Deep Jaley”. The actor also performed in three movies including “Dakoo” and “Bobby” but he left the film industry. Since he was educated in England, he could not read Urdu and had to get his dialogues rendered in Roman.
He was son of film producer and lyricist Zia Sarhadi who produced three films “Hum Loag”, “Footpath” and “Awaz” before the partition of the Indian subcontinent.
The actor is survived by his widow and four daughters.

My father Khayyam Sarhadi was 61 when he passed away… Zhalay Sarhadi is my Dad's bigger brother's daughter… her name is Zhallay not Zille… she is my cousin… i am extremly sad with the media responce about my father's death… the entire media was outside our house and none of them posted any valid information… dawn news published three different facts about his life which arent true… 1st we are 4 sisters not 7 … second my father was born in 1949… he wasnt 75, 70 or 68… he was 61… he doesnot have two widows…

Its really Sad that Kahyam sarhadi Sahab is not between us ……and i like his" Man chale ka sauda" Drama..written by Ashfaq Ahmed….no one can play such a fine role of Irshad in this Drama Like Khayam Sahab….Hats off to U..May Allah give u jannat ul firdous.. Ameen
